As a family we care for our environment and are willing to undertake the challenge to work for a sustainable way of life. In 1999 we settled in Puerto Río Tranquilo where, since then, we have been devoted to our family enterprise.
In the heart of the Chilean Patagonia, in the little village of Puerto Tranquilo, we want to share with our guests the warmth of its people and the experience of raising a family in this natural small community. We want to offer the visitors a wide range of outdoor activities that emphasize direct contact with nature and develop our respect toward it. As members of this community we want to contribute to enhance local identity and preserve the cultural patrimony of its inhabitants.

Hostal El Puesto invites you to enjoy the hospitality of this Patagonian refuge, where the whole family will be waiting on you. You will find a comfortable atmosphere to share with your friends and family. The architecture, the native woods, the wood heating, the roomy interiors, all provides an excellent environment to relax after a full day of outdoor activities.
All this plus an excellent gastronomy makes of El Puesto an exclusive operation centre for all the special interest excursions that can be done in the area around Tranquilo.
The hostel has 3 rooms with private bathroom, two twins and one double, with a total capacity for 6 passengers

El PUESTO expeditions invites you to share the natural and cultural environment, experience adventures together and enjoy the country people hospitality.
Surrounded by beautiful highlights such as the Marble Chapel Natural Reserve (Capilla de Mármol), the San Rafael National Park and the northern ice cap and two of its most beautiful glaciers Exploradores and Leones, you will be able to contemplate the highest summit in Patagonia : the San Valentín; navigate on the Lago General Carrera, the largest lake in Chile, and on the Betrand lake and the Baker river, its outflow; ride on horseback either among deciduous forest or open pampas and/or hike through the evergreen forest or walk on a glacier.
At the end of the year we promise to share a delicious Patagonian barbecue and drink a warm mate remembering all the adventures of the past days.

This enterprise offers many Special Interest programs and our strength is to put you in contact with the small scale local operators
